A Fellow is the gold standard and represents the highest level of knowledge, ethics and patient care in orthokeratology and myopia control.

The American Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control is the leading body of orthokeratology practitioners and academics in the United States. Fellowship status in the Academy is determined by doctor experience and expertise and follows a rigorous case evaluation and testing procedure. Less than one percent of U.S. optometrists have achieved Fellowship in the Academy. Those doctors who achieve Fellowship status represents the highest standards of care in this specialty.

What is Orthokeratology?

Orthokeratology, or “ortho-k,” is the non-surgical process of reshaping the eye with custom designed rigid gas permeable (GP) contact lenses. Ortho-K is effective in slowing or even halting the progression of  myopia. Kids whose myopia are progressing benefit the most from Ortho-K by wearing Ortho-K at night and enjoying clear vision at daytime without wearing glasses. Other names for orthokeratology are CRT, corneal refractive therapy, overnight corneal reshaping, et al.
